Bacardí’s Casa Bacardí activation at Chicago’s Lollapalooza offers festivalgoers signature Caribbean-inspired cocktails on site while Disney+ and Hulu livestream exclusive Casa Bacardí content to fans worldwide. This hybrid strategy – combining an on-the-ground activation with digital broadcast – extends Bacardí’s reach beyond the festival grounds and exemplifies a new model in alcohol brand sponsorship.
Casa Bacardí serves as the brand’s central festival hub, a two-storey pop-up in Grant Park offering tropical, rum-forward experiences inspired by Bacardí’s Caribbean heritage. Attendees can enjoy signature cocktails specially crafted for Lollapalooza: examples include the Piña Co-Lolla (a Bacardí Coconut Rum, pineapple and soda mix), the classic Mojito (offered in Wildberry flavor as well), a refreshing Rum-Palooza, and the bold Mango Fuego. The Casa Bacardí space also features live DJ sets (including artist DJ Crespo and local Chicago DJs) and performances by Las BomPleneras, a Puerto Rican music-and-dance ensemble – underscoring the brand’s cultural roots.
As Bacardí North America VP Lisa Pfenning explains, “Lollapalooza is one of the most anticipated music moments of the summer, making it the perfect place for Bacardí to bring people together over incredible cocktails and unforgettable experiences”. In short, the Casa Bacardí hub reinforces the rum brand’s image as a vibrant music-and-culture lifestyle player, while giving festivalgoers reasons to interact with Bacardí’s products and messaging in person.
In a first for Lollapalooza, the four-day festival (July 30–Aug 2, 2026) is being livestreamed globally on Disney+ and Hulu. As part of this new model, Disney Advertising and Bacardí have integrated the Casa Bacardí experience into the stream. Live-stream viewers get a front-row seat to backstage content and branded segments filmed inside Casa Bacardí – effectively making Bacardí “a cultural host” of the broadcast.
Over the festival weekend, Disney+ and Hulu present original Bacardí segments such as Behind the Casa, DJ Sound of Rum, Small Biz Showcase and Meet Me at Casa Bacardí. These tell the story behind the pop-up and spotlight festival talent, blending lifestyle content with brand messaging. For example, on-stream hosts tour the Casa Bacardí space, reveal cocktail-making demos (like the live-mixing of the Piña Co-Lolla), and interview Bacardí’s own ambassadors and guests. A QR code on screen even lets viewers enter a sweepstakes for a Casa Bacardí trip, turning passive viewing into active participation (as Bacardí did in its 2025 livestream).
Disney’s team underscores the strategic value: “Fans today want more than just a front-row seat – they want access,” says Disney Advertising EVP John Campbell. By extending Lollapalooza beyond Grant Park via Disney+ and Hulu, Bacardí gains “behind-the-scenes” exposure and new ways to connect with fans’ music and culture interests. In other words, the partnership turbocharges Bacardí’s festival sponsorship, turning it into a multi-platform content campaign rather than a passive sign at a tent.
At the festival grounds, Casa Bacardí leverages a multi-sensory, experiential approach:
Together, these features turn Casa Bacardí into a festival destination – a key tactic in alcohol event marketing. As Global Drinks Intel notes, Bacardí’s multi-level pop-up with cocktail flights and performances effectively “puts namesake rum centre stage”.
Bacardí’s push reflects a broader shift: live event streaming is becoming a major platform for sponsorship. In May 2026 Disney and Live Nation announced that Lollapalooza (along with Bonnaroo and ACL) would be livestreamed worldwide on Disney+ and Hulu for the first time. The message to brands is clear: music festivals are now “global live moments that fans want to experience together,” says Live Nation’s Kevin Chernett. Disney emphasizes that “music festivals are among the most electric, can’t-miss moments in culture” and streaming them makes that excitement accessible to fans everywhere.
For alcohol marketers, this means sponsorships can no longer be only about a logo on-site. Brands like Bacardí are turning sponsorship into content. By embedding Bacardí into the livestream – with branded segments and interactive QR invites – Bacardí increases impressions beyond the tens of thousands on site to potentially millions of viewers. In effect, Bacardí is licensing Lollapalooza’s digital footprint to reinforce its marketing messages.
Competitors are also investing heavily in festival activations. Drinks Intel reports that Tequila Patrón has built its own two-storey “Hacienda Patrón” activation this year, part of a multi-year music festival partnership for the brand. Campari’s Aperol similarly secured branded space and an on-site activation at Lollapalooza. For Bacardí, going live on Hulu/Disney may be a response to an industry trend where alcohol brands need to stage memorable experiences to stand out among many sponsors. Streaming also allows measurement and data capture (e.g. sweepstakes signups, ad metrics) that on-site activations alone cannot provide.
Several lessons emerge for C-suite and marketing leaders in alcohol:
Bacardí’s Casa Bacardí at Lollapalooza exemplifies an evolved festival sponsorship: it is experiential, multimedia and data-driven. On site, Bacardí creates a branded oasis with distinctive cocktails and entertainment; off site, it leverages Disney+ and Hulu to amplify the party worldwide. For alcohol brand owners and marketers, this case underscores that festival activations must now be omnichannel experiences. As streaming partnerships proliferate, the brands that win will be those that treat audiences as both live event attendees and media consumers – delivering a cohesive experience on and off stage.
